Sleepless Nights

Hey there! This is the first time I am posting something of this sort. Here is a poem I wrote, and its Hindi translation by my friend. Hope you like it. 🙂

When the stars stay awake,
Giving me company,
When the mind wanders,
Playing delirious symphonies..
When the mind wanders in distant skies,
It travels all the way from lows to highs..
When the stars give me company,
Those are the only ones that hear me speak,
Of the silences and chaos,
Of the differences that show up..
Those sleepless nights,
Are the ones that inspire,
Those sleepless nights,
They clear the vision, so dazed..
The stars give me company,

Of the silences and chaos,
That my lips never speak..

जब सितारे भी जल रहे पूरी रात मेरे साथ,
जब  भटकता मन बेसुध संगीत की हो आवाज़..
जब गुज़रे मन दूर आसमान से,
जब गुज़रे वो हर मकाम से।

जब सितारे जलते हो मेरे साथ,
उनतक पहुंचती मेरी बात,
फिर ख़ामोशी हो या चीख़ मेरी,
फिर चाहे मुखरने के हालात..

वो शब-ए-बे-ख़्वाब ऐसी थी,
जो इतने ख़्वाब सजा गए,
वो शब-ए-बे-ख़्वाब ऐसी थी,
जो दिल-ऐ-उलझन सुलझा गए..

जब सितारे जलते हो मेरे साथ,
उनतक पहुंचती मेरी बात,
फिर ख़ामोशी हो या चीख़ मेरी,
फिर लफ्ज़ मेरे जो न लभ हुए।
