The Martyrs

Look at those faces,
Beaming proudly as they go..
As the moon changed its phases,
They stood there in the snow..

They felt the bullets pierce through their chests,
Fighting till their last breath,
The proud faces..
In peace they rest..

The fearless warriors,
The brave souls,
Scrapped down our enemies,
Didn’t care about the bullet holes..

Look at those warm hearts,
That danced happily by the fire..
Look at the contentment in their faces,
As they are burning in the pyre..

Look at those faces,
Those brave souls..
Who have left their traces,
In our souls..

  3. They sacrifice, and we hardly acknowledge. They are the epitome of selflessness, and we of selfishness. This poem is a tribute to those brave soldiers who care least about themselves and most about their nation.
    Loved it! 🙂
